I Spy Quilt Project

I SPY Project

I have had this fabric panel for a while. I liked the bright colors in the squares.
When I purchased it, I wasn't sure what I would do with it.

I went with wonky blocks for an I SPY quilt. The blocks measured at 4 inches.
A wide rectangle was cut, then cut on an angle and attached to each side.
When all the sides are attached, they should measure 5 -5 1/2 inches.

I SPY Quilting Goals:

  • Finish cutting, sewing and trimming blocks.
  • Determine sashing or no sashing.
  • Determine approximate width, select backing.
  • Sew blocks.

The goals are the intended quilting goals, sometimes all of the goals cannot be completed in one week, and that's O.K.

A Great Day for Soup

Any day is a great day for soup.
Love a good bowl of homemade soup, especially in the winter months.

Do you have a great soup recipe?

From the Bookshelf

Some time ago one of my quilter friends shared a quilt block
she referred to as a Potato Chip block.
I loved this pattern; it was great way to use scraps.
The best thing of all is it has no seams.
I love to make scrappy quilts.
I searched and found a couple of videos saying Potato Chip block.
I thought there had to be a place where this originated.
I kept searching and so far, the closest thing I have found was in this book.
It is best to give credit to the original creator or artist.
If you know anyone before this publication,
I would love to know the history of this block. I purchased this as a used book.

I still have a way to go, but I love sewing this block!
